Joshua is now in primary school and has adapted really well into the new routine and environment. I was at first worried and apprehensive about the early wake up time and the impact of the new school environment and new faces on him, but I’m now proud to say he wakes up bright and chirpy every day, looking forward to going to school.

I must say all these would not be possible without the help, love and guidance from his teachers in ChildFirst. Much as he misses his teachers and friends from ChildFirst, he knows he is entering a new milestone and welcomes it readily and eagerly. I know his K2 teachers have been preparing him for this moment over the past year and their efforts have certainly paid off.

From buying food confidently during recess, returning the bowl and cutlery promptly after eating, wiping down the table after use, to following teachers’ instructions carefully, speaking to his teachers politely with respect, completing tasks in the classroom responsibly, interacting with his peers comfortably and noting down things to do in his planner, these are what I observed on the first day of school but deep down in my heart, I know he is able to display all these qualities because his years of “training” at ChildFirst. These are indeed fruits of labour from his ChildFirst teachers.

Your team has provided him a safe and loving learning haven, just like his second home, and over the years nurtured and developed his confidence, independence, discipline, cheerful disposition and passion for learning. My husband and I can’t thank you all enough and we’re just glad we chose to have Joshua spend his preschool years in ChildFirst.

His primary school Form Teacher (also his Chinese teacher) mentioned that his command of the Chinese language is good (even though it’s only Day 4 of school!). I was so heartened to hear this because one of the main reasons we choose to enrol Joshua into ChildFirst was your Chinese curriculum. From a boy who told me “Mummy, I don’t like Chinese, speak to me in English.” to one who loves writing Chinese characters, reading Chinese story books and singing and dancing to Chinese children songs taught by 姚老师, we have seen how he has grown to embrace his mother tongue and the credit definitely goes to his Chinese teachers at ChildFirst.
