Nature Walk & Art Activities for Pre-schoolers – Hillview

As part of their iUnique theme on Chromatic Arts and Nature, the ChildFirst @ Hillview N2 children went on a nature walk. During their exploration, they observed their surroundings and gathered colourful petals and leaves along the way.

Using these natural materials, the children created their own Nature Sun Catchers. They also had great fun wearing vibrant butterfly wings and watching the beautiful colourful shadows formed under the sunlight. As they explored, they were encouraged to identify and name the colours they saw, and to spot similar hues in the natural environment around them.

Back in the classroom, the learning continued as the children moulded air-dry clay into flower shapes and carefully pressed the petals and leaves they had collected onto their creations. Once dried, these were transformed into their own unique Nature Charms.

Through this hands-on experience, the children strengthened their observation skills, expressed their creativity and deepened their appreciation for the beauty of nature.
