What to expect from Primary 1 Readiness

Readiness for Primary 1

  • Primary 1 is a big step. Children arrive ready when they are confident speakers and early readers in English and Chinese, can focus and manage their feelings, and are used to starting things for themselves.
  • We build that from the first days, not in the last year: English and Chinese from the start, focus and emotional intelligence taught from the youngest years, and children who lead their own projects.
  • As your child approaches Primary 1, we strengthen the academic, social and practical life skills needed for a bigger school: managing daily routines, making new friends, following instructions and learning independently.
  • The stage after the preschool years, from about 6, is about feeling capable in school, and a confident start builds on the initiative developed earlier.
  • So you can have peace of mind knowing your child is not just academically prepared, but confident, independent and ready for the next big step.
